The program is dedicated to malnourished children and it has been founded in March 2011.
The program is open for children between 0 to 5 years old and provides theirs mothers or closer relatives with food education and baby care.

SAMBAMBA
Rehabilitation
PROGRAM
The Sambamba Project aims to promote the social inclusion of disabled children living in Iringa using the approach of CBR, community based rehabilitation. Since 2016 have been opened 9 focal points located in different areas of Iringa to try to reach more children, even those who live in villages.

SCHOOL FEEDING
PROGRAM
Call Africa hes been working since 2006 to sustain feeding programs in schools. The organization is sustaining feeding programs in 6 schools in Iringa district. A target of above 5.000 children has been reached.
INTENSIVE
WEEK
HOME ASSISTANCE
The program is based mostly on home assistance in which the nutritionist cooperate with the mothers once a week during a cooking demonstration, with the aim to teach how to prepare a complete meal to the child.
INCOME-GENERATED ACTIVITIES
Each Thursday, mothers/tutors participate to trainings dedicated to the creation of a small income-generated activities, aimed at gaining the necessary income for the sustenance of the family.
FOOD PACKAGES
A food packages is provided to parents in order to support them during their attendance to the program; the package usually contain flour, different cereals, fish, honey, soap, fruits and vegetables
MEASUREMENT
Each month, we keep the progress of the children part of the program through the measurement of weight and MUAC (arm circumference). Periodically, we also visit the schools in which we collaborate for the School Feeding program to measure the MUAC of the children and refer case of malnutrition to the parents.
FOCAL POINT
With our specialists, 2 physiotherapists and 7 Community rehabilitation workers, we offer rehabilitation to more than 200 children with disabilities.
HOME ASSISTANCE
We offer home assistance to the children that are not able to reach our focal points dislocated in Iringa. During home assistance, our community rehabilitation workers support the parents in doing rehabilitation exercises.
COGNITIVE REHABILITATION
In our focal points we also offer a cognitive rehabilitation to the children with any kind of mental retardation or cognitive disabilities through a personalized rehabilitation plan.
TRAINING
Periodically, physiotherapists conduct a training to the parents/tutors of the children and to the community rehabilitation workers, aimed at showing which are the different type of children's disabilities and how to approach them at the best.
FOOD DISTRIBUTION
Each Monday we provide the necessary ingredients to prepare the meal in 6 primary school for a week.
KANDE
Twice a week our staff prepare a local meal called Kande in each primary school we operate. Kande is a sort of soup prepared with corn and beans adding some vegetables like carrots, onions and spinach.
SCHOOL GARDEN
In some of the primary school in which we operate, it is available a school garden where children and teachers can cultivate any kind of vegetables, useful in the preparation of Kande.
SCHOOLS
The aim is to provide a hot complete meal to children attending primary school with the scope of improving their nutritional status and their schooling performance.
